Calm Pack Walks
Structured Group Walks in Oxfordshire
Helping dogs become calmer, more confident and more comfortable around other dogs, one walk at a time.
Real life doesn’t happen on a training field. It happens on footpaths, country lanes, woodland tracks and open countryside, where other dogs, people, cyclists and wildlife are part of everyday life.
Our Calm Pack Walks provide the perfect opportunity to practise walking calmly around other dogs in a safe, structured and professionally managed environment.
Every walk is designed to help your dog build confidence, improve emotional regulation and enjoy the company of other dogs without the pressure of direct interaction.
A Real Walk in a Real Environment
Unlike many training sessions that take place in enclosed spaces or car parks, our pack walks are held on a private farm in Oxfordshire.
With acres of countryside to explore, your dog experiences all the sights, sounds and smells of a real walk, while remaining in a safe environment carefully managed by an experienced behaviour professional. This creates the perfect balance between realism and control.

Why Structured Pack Walks Work
Many behavioural challenges don’t happen because dogs don’t know what to do. They happen because the environment becomes emotionally overwhelming.
Our walks provide repeated opportunities for dogs to experience other dogs at comfortable distances, make calm decisions and learn that they don’t need to react to everything around them.
Over time, this can help develop:
- Emotional regulation around other dogs
- Calm lead walking
- Confidence in new environments
- Better focus on the owner
- Improved recovery after excitement
- Greater neutrality around everyday distractions
- More enjoyable, relaxed walks
We’re not aiming to create dogs that ignore the world. We’re helping them learn they don’t need to worry about it.
No Pressure to Meet Other Dogs
One of the biggest misconceptions about socialisation is that dogs need to greet every dog they see.
In reality, many dogs benefit far more from learning to walk calmly alongside other dogs without feeling the need to interact.
During our pack walks:
- Dogs remain on lead
- There are no forced greetings
- Every dog is given the space they need
- Calm behaviour is encouraged and reinforced throughout the walk
This creates an environment where dogs can simply enjoy being part of the group while remaining emotionally settled
Suitable for Many Dogs
Our Calm Pack Walks are ideal for dogs who:
- Become over-excited when they see other dogs
- Need more confidence on walks
- Are working on calm lead walking
- Need structured exposure to everyday distractions
- Have completed behavioural training and want regular practice
- Simply enjoy walking with other dogs in a calm environment
Every dog attending must first be assessed to ensure the walks are suitable for both them and the rest of the group. This helps us maintain a safe, positive experience for everyone involved.
Learn as You Walk
Although these aren’t formal training classes, every walk becomes a learning opportunity.
Anthony is available throughout the walk to answer questions, explain your dog’s behaviour and offer practical guidance that you can apply on future walks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will my dog be allowed to play with the other dogs?
No. These walks focus on helping dogs feel calm and comfortable around one another rather than encouraging play or greetings.
Are the dogs off lead?
No. All dogs remain on lead throughout the walk, allowing us to create a safe, structured environment for everyone.
My dog can be a little excitable. Can we still attend?
Possibly. Many of the dogs joining our walks are working on excitement, frustration or confidence. Every dog is assessed beforehand to ensure the walks are appropriate and enjoyable for everyone.
How many dogs attend each walk?
A maximum of 10 dogs, allowing for a genuine group experience while maintaining a calm, well-managed environment.
